ARCHITECT: Hullcove/Mark Finlay
CONTRACTOR: Kirby-Perkins Construction
A true testament to time, this historic property started construction in 1738 and was completed in 1755 for King Carter. Through the years it has seen many renovations and additions, but in 2016 it received a true preservation back to its historic nature with its original staircase and naturally exposed wall paneling. Accompanying this marvel on its 500 acres are a caretaker’s cottage, horse stalls, underground museum, and soon to be a boathouse on the James River.
